Miami, FL – December 4, 2020 – As news that Art Basel Miami, one of the world’s most prominent art fairs, would drastically scale back to a virtual experience due to COVID-19, Art4All was created to provide an alternative for artists to share their work with the public in a way that is safe and accessible to all.
Art4All launches its public art fair in Miami, showcasing art from top artists on more than 50 billboards throughout the City of Miami on December 3rd. Simultaneously, Art 4All will also exhibit large murals at Miami Worldcenter in Downtown Miami, Art4All’s headquarters, where new murals will be displayed throughout the entire year until Art Basel 2021.
In partnership with Miami Worldcenter, a $4 billion, 27-acre mixed-use development underway in the heart of Downtown Miami, Art4All is displaying more than 100 pieces of art, created by established and emerging artists. The works will be showcased around the city on billboards and on giant murals along two full blocks of Miami Worldcenter’s pedestrian promenade – from NE 8th Street to NE 10th Street and between NE 1st and 2nd Avenues – as part of the development’s upcoming open-air, high-street retail paseo, which is set to debut in 2021.
“We are building a 27-acre city-within-a-city at Miami Worldcenter, and public art is a key element bringing every facet of our development together to create a memorable experience for our residents and visitors. Art4All is a perfect partner because we share a passion for bringing the beauty of art to everyone,” said Nitin Motwani, managing partner of Miami Worldcenter Associates. “We’ve dedicated an extraordinary amount of outdoor space for art installations and beautiful landscaping to create an inspiring environment for people to enjoy.”
Some of the featured artists in Miami Worldcenter’s Art4All exhibit include:
- Yigal Ozeri: New York City based Israeli artist Yigal Ozeri is best known for his large-scale cinematic portraits of distinctive young women in rich prodigious landscapes. With tinges of Pre-Raphaelite aesthetics, Ozeri brings an ethereal and uninhibited sensibility to his paintings. Ozeri has shown extensively around the world including solo exhibits in Spain, China, The Netherlands, France, Germany, and Mexico. He is also in the permanent collections of renowned museums throughout the world, such as: The Whitney Museum of American Art, The McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, The Jewish Museum in New York, among others.
- Shepard Fairey: Frank Shepard Fairey is an American contemporary street artist, graphic designer, activist, illustrator, and founder of OBEY Clothing who emerged from the skateboarding scene. He first became known for his “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” (…OBEY…) sticker campaign while attending the Rhode Island School of Design. He became widely known during the 2008 U.S. presidential election for his Barack Obama “Hope” poster. His work is included in the collections at The Smithsonian, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London among others.
- David Drebin: David Drebin’s work combines voyeuristic and psychological viewpoints, offering the viewer a dramatic insight into emotions and experiences which many of us have doubtlessly felt at some point of our lives. After graduating from Parsons School of Design in New York City in 1996, he rapidly made a name for himself as an internationally renowned photographer creating images of movie stars, sports personalities, and commissioned for countless high profile advertising campaigns around the world. David is a multidisciplinary artist working in various art forms producing limited edition works including Photographs, Lightboxes, Neon Light Installations, Sculptures and Etchings on Glass.
- Guy Stanley Philoche: Haitian-born modern artist Guy Stanley Philoche is the middle child of three boys and comes from a family of sports enthusiasts whose passion he did not share. Instead, Philoche turned to his calling: art. Now a New York-based artist, for the past 15 years, he has been attracting international attention with his strong and sophisticated palette. His layering technique has created a body of paintings so richly textured that one can hardly hold back from reaching out and touching the canvas. In fact, it is the artist’s intent and wish that the viewer will follow their desire to reach out and feel the different textures of his varnished canvases.
Art4All was created as a creative solution to the wide-spread cancellations of art fairs around the world. After Art Basel Miami, along with other major art fairs were closed, Gregoire Vogelsang, the founder of Cube Art Fair, created Art4All, an international non-profit that shares art with the public, by displaying inspiring art in public places around the world.
The inaugural “Art4All” exhibit was launched in Brussels when Vogelsang brought 100 pieces of American artworks, created during the lock down, to more than one million citizens in the European capital, by displaying the works to the public on more than 50 billboards around the city, and now he and his team are bringing this creative exhibit to Miami coinciding with the originally planned Art Basel 2020 dates. “We wanted to find creative ways to continue sharing art with the world and to inspire people to remain positive and to stay creative,” said Gregoire Vogelsang.
