The NAWIC Tours Miami Worldcenter

Last month, the National Association for Women in Construction’s (NAWIC) Miami Chapter kicked off ‘Women in Construction Week’ with a site visit to Miami Worldcenter in an effort to raise awareness of the opportunities available for women in the construction industry and to emphasize the growing role of women in the field. During the site tour, President Rhonda Wimberley and approximately 18 other members of the chapter toured the development’s CAOBA apartment building, Paramount Miami Worldcenter luxury condo tower, and the D-East garage and amenity deck.

The NAWIC began in 1953 with 16 women who knew that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, this led to its formation to create a support network for those women.

Today, NAWIC provides its members with opportunities for professional development, education, networking, leadership training, public service and more with the core purpose: “To enhance the success of women in the construction industry.”
